Spring season is underway as various HT sports teams take on their rivals to compete in games that will strengthen their team chemistry, their own abilities and determine their season outcomes.

Soccer season will officially start next week, but there’s a lot to talk about the current events during the preseason. Both the girls’ and boys’ soccer teams are on a right pathway to start the season off:

The junior girls’ soccer team earned a bronze medal in their first tournament two weeks ago. They finished with two wins and one loss, but the team members are very excited to begin the season and are looking forward to representing our school! Good luck, girls!

The senior girls’ soccer team competed recently in the Jean Vanier tournament. They tied Corpus Christi 0-0 and then went on to beat Nelson with the score of 5-0. In the finals, the girls beat a longtime rival, the Loyola Hawks with the final score of 2-0 and were crowned the champs of the tournament. Again, the senior girls have what it takes and can beat any opponent that will come their way. Of course, the season will be tough as always, but the girls have team chemistry and trust each other and with that they will go far! Their next tournament is tomorrow at McMaster. Good luck, ladies!!

Senior boys’ soccer team played their three preseason games on Friday. The first two games were tied at 0-0 and the last one resulted in a 1-1 tie. The team looked great from the start as all players made an effort and the goalies had some pretty impressive saves. The seniors play another tournament this Wednesday at our very own field, so come on out and support the boys! Good luck to HT’s soccer teams in the season that is just around the corner!

HT’s badminton teams started off the season in great shape. Both juniors and seniors made an impact on the coaches and other teams when the Titans hosted the first tournament of the season. On that day, HT came 9th overall. There is a lot of work to do in order to be at the podium at the end of the season, but with a Titan spirit, anything is possible! Good luck, HT!

HT’s junior boys’ hockey team became an All Canadian Classic Tournament Champions this past week. This prestigious tournament win followed up their victory in the Burlington Cup last week. The boys took on many teams before being crowned. They proved to have many talented players and coaches and are also looking to more wins and games throughout the season. Way to go, boys!!

Last but not least, it was an exciting week for a few individual athletes at Holy Trinity. HT's own Ignas Brazdeikis was named to Basketball Canada's national cadet team. On Saturday, three Titans were selected in the OHL Priority Selection Draft; the Saginaw Spirit selected Robert Proner, Kyle Potts was drafted by the North Bay Battalion, and the Erie Otters picked Derek McVey. Congratulations, guys!

GOOOOO TITANS!!!
